the big questions first
what happens if something doesn’t go as planned?

If you’re looking for the fine print, possible surprises, or areas where website projects usually go wrong, this section breaks those questions down by category.
Pricing, Payments & Hidden Fees
What happens if the final price changes after I already started?
The website build price does not change unless you request something outside the original scope of the project.
For a standard website build, the price is discussed clearly before we begin. If you ask for something custom or outside what was originally included, we will discuss that with you before moving forward.
What happens if I need more pages than expected?
Reasonable additional pages are included in the website build.
We do not charge you extra just because your website needs more than a few basic pages. The goal is to build the website your business actually needs, not force your information into a tiny page limit.
What happens if I ask for changes and you say they cost extra?
Most reasonable changes before launch are included.
If a request is outside the original scope, requires a major rebuild, or adds features that were not part of the original project, we will explain that before doing the work. You will not be surprised with extra charges after the fact.
What happens if I want something custom that is not included?
If you want something custom, we will discuss it before adding it to the project.
Some custom features may require extra time, extra tools, paid software, or a different setup. If that applies, we will explain your options clearly before moving forward.
Revisions, Design & Approvals
What happens if I need changes before the website launches?
You will have a chance to review the website before launch.
If something needs to be adjusted, we will make reasonable revisions before the website goes live. That may include changes to wording, layout, photos, sections, contact information, service details, or other important parts of the website.
What happens if I don’t understand what I’m approving?
Ask us before approving it.
We do not expect every client to understand website terms, layouts, plugins, hosting, forms, or technical details. If something is unclear, we will explain it in plain language so you know what you are approving.
What happens if I approve the website and then notice something wrong later?
If you notice something wrong after approval or launch, let us know.
Small corrections can usually be handled through your Website Care plan. If the issue came from incorrect information provided or approved before launch, we can still correct it, but it may count as a website change depending on the situation.
What happens if I’m not happy with the first version?
The first version is not the final launch.
You will have a chance to review the website and request reasonable changes before it goes live. The goal is to get the website aligned with your business, not force you to accept the first draft without feedback.
What happens if we disagree on what “reasonable revisions” means?
“Reasonable revisions” means normal changes that help improve the website based on the original project direction.
It does not mean unlimited redesigns, a completely different website, or adding major new features that were not part of the original plan. If a request goes beyond a reasonable revision, we will explain that clearly before moving forward.
What happens if I do not like the design style?
Tell us what feels off.
Sometimes the issue is color, spacing, photos, wording, layout, or the overall feel of the site. We will use your feedback to make reasonable adjustments before launch. The more specific your feedback is, the easier it is to fix the problem.
What happens if I want to redesign the website later?
If you want a redesign later, we can discuss what needs to change.
Small updates may be handled through your Website Care plan. A full redesign may be treated as a new project depending on how much needs to be rebuilt.
Project Timeline & Cancellation
What happens if the website takes longer than expected?
If the timeline changes, we will communicate with you.
Some delays happen because we are waiting on client information, photos, account access, domain details, approvals, or outside tools. Other delays may happen if the project changes direction. Either way, we will keep the process clear instead of leaving you guessing.
What happens if I cancel before the website is finished?
If you decide to cancel the project before your website is finished, simply let us know.
Your deposit is non-refundable because it covers the planning, research, content writing, design work, and other time already invested into your project. However, if you cancel before the website is completed, you are not obligated to pay the remaining website build balance.
What happens if I cancel after the website is finished but before launch?
If the website has already been completed and reviewed, the remaining website build balance is due before launch.
If you decide not to launch after the website is finished, we can discuss your options. However, completed work is not treated the same as canceling early in the build process.
What happens if I want to come back later after canceling?
If you want to come back later, contact us and we will see what is still available.
Depending on how much time has passed, we may be able to restart the project or reactivate the website. If too much time has passed, a new project may be required.
What happens if I stop paying monthly?
If the monthly Website Care plan is not paid, the services connected to that plan may stop.
That may include hosting, maintenance, updates, support, website changes, booking support, form support, and other ongoing services. We do not want to shut anything off without warning, but the website cannot stay active on an unpaid care plan.
What happens if I feel pressured to move forward?
You should not feel pressured to move forward.
The free consultation is there so you can ask questions, understand the process, and decide if it makes sense for your business. If it is not the right fit, that is okay.
Website Care & Ongoing Support
What happens if I need emergency changes?
Contact us as soon as possible.
We will do our best to help quickly, especially for important business updates like phone numbers, hours, pricing mistakes, service changes, or broken contact options. Emergency requests may depend on availability and the type of change needed.
What happens if I need changes more often than expected?
If you need frequent changes, Premium Website Care may be the better fit.
Basic Website Care is meant for a reasonable amount of ongoing updates. Premium Website Care is better for clients who expect more frequent revisions, updates, page changes, service updates, or ongoing support.
What happens if my business changes after the website launches?
Your website can be updated as your business changes.
If your services, hours, phone number, address, pricing, service area, booking process, or business details change, let us know. Those updates can usually be handled through your Website Care plan.
What happens if you go out of business or stop offering website care?
If we ever stop offering Website Care, we would communicate that clearly and give clients reasonable information about their options.
The goal would be to avoid leaving clients surprised, confused, or unable to make decisions about their website.
Website Ownership & Moving Your Website
What happens if I want to take my website somewhere else?
If you want to move your website somewhere else, let us know.
Because hosting, care, software, tools, and website files may be connected to our setup, the process will depend on what you want transferred and what agreements are in place. We will explain what is available and what is required before anything changes.
What happens if I want ownership of the website files?
Website file ownership depends on the agreement in place.
By default, website files, layouts, systems, and setup may remain part of our service unless otherwise agreed in writing. If owning or transferring the files is important to you, ask about that before starting so the expectations are clear.
What happens if I sell or close my business?
If you sell or close your business, let us know.
We can discuss whether the website should be updated, paused, canceled, transferred, or taken offline. The right option depends on what is happening with the business and whether the website will still be used.
Content, Photos & Business Information
What happens if I want to use my own photos?
You can provide your own photos if you have the right to use them.
Client-provided photos can make the website feel more personal and specific to your business. We may crop, resize, or adjust how they are used so they fit the website properly.
What happens if I do not have any photos?
That is not a problem.
We can still build a professional website using appropriate image options, icons, layout, color, and content structure. If your own photos are needed later, they can usually be added after launch.
What happens if I do not want certain information shown on the website?
Tell us during the planning process.
Some information may be important for customers, such as services, contact options, service areas, hours, or booking instructions. But if there is something you do not want shown publicly, we can discuss the best way to handle it.
What happens if you write something inaccurate about my business?
Let us know so it can be corrected.
We write the website based on the information you provide, but you are responsible for reviewing the website before launch. If something is inaccurate, unclear, outdated, or missing, we want to correct it before customers see it.
What happens if I change my phone number, address, hours, or services?
Let us know and we can update the website.
These are common business changes and can usually be handled through your Website Care plan. Keeping this information accurate is important because it affects how customers contact you and understand your services.
Domains, Hosting & Account Access
What happens if I already have a website and want to move it over?
If you already have a website, we can review what you currently have and discuss the best next step.
In some cases, it may make sense to rebuild the website instead of trying to move everything over exactly as-is. We will explain the practical option instead of pretending every old website can be transferred cleanly.
What happens if I already have a domain?
If you already have a domain, we can help connect it to the new website when it is time to launch.
You may need to provide access to your domain account or update certain domain settings. We will explain what is needed when we get to that step.
What happens if I do not have a domain yet?
That is not a problem.
We can still start planning, designing, and building your website before you have a domain. The domain is only needed right before launch so the finished website can be connected and placed on the web.
If you do not have a domain yet, we can help you understand what to look for before you buy one.
What happens if I want to use my own hosting?
Our websites must use our hosting unless we agree otherwise in writing.
Our Website Care plans are built around our hosting, maintenance, support, and website setup. Because of that, we do not build websites on outside hosting by default.
The only exception is if we have a written agreement giving you ownership of the website files. If you own the website files, you may take those files wherever you choose.
Without that written agreement, the website must remain on our hosting. If you cancel service and decide to work with another agency, you would need to start a new website project with that agency.
What happens if I lose access to my domain, email, or business accounts?
If you lose access to an important account, you may need to recover it directly through that provider.
We can help explain what may be needed, but we cannot guarantee access to accounts we do not own or control. This is why it is important to keep your login information secure and up to date.
What happens if you need access to my accounts?
If we need access to an account, we will explain why.
This may include a domain registrar, Google account, booking tool, email service, or other business-related account. We only ask for access when it is needed for the website setup, connection, or support.
What happens if I’m uncomfortable sharing passwords?
Tell us.
In some cases, you may be able to add us as a user, share limited access, or enter information yourself while we guide you. We do not want you sharing passwords in a way that makes you uncomfortable or puts your accounts at unnecessary risk.
Forms, Booking & Email
What happens if a form stops working?
If a form stops working, contact us so we can look into it.
Form issues can happen because of plugin updates, email delivery problems, spam filters, hosting issues, or incorrect settings. Website Care helps make sure these problems are handled instead of leaving you to troubleshoot them alone.
What happens if customers say they submitted a form, but I never received it?
Let us know right away.
The issue may be with the form, email delivery, spam filtering, or the email address receiving the messages. We can check the setup and help troubleshoot where the problem may be happening.
What happens if the booking system stops working?
If your booking system stops working, contact us so we can review it.
Booking problems may come from software settings, calendar connections, payment settings, plugin updates, or third-party service issues. If booking is part of your plan, we will help troubleshoot the issue.
Google, SEO & Website Performance
What happens if the website does not bring me customers?
A website can make it easier for visitors to trust you, find answers, and contact you, but no website can guarantee customers.
Results depend on many things, including your offer, pricing, reputation, location, competition, traffic, reviews, advertising, and how people find your business. The website’s job is to support the customer’s decision once they land there.
What happens if my website does not show up on Google right away?
New websites do not always show up on Google immediately.
We can make the website Google Search ready, but Google decides when and how pages appear in search results. Indexing and rankings can take time, especially for brand-new websites or competitive service areas.
What happens if I expected SEO to be included?
Basic Google Search readiness can be included, but full SEO is not the same as simply building the website.
A website can be structured with clear pages, headings, service information, location information, and search-friendly basics. Ongoing SEO, blogging, backlink building, advanced keyword strategy, and ranking campaigns are separate services unless specifically included.
What happens if a competitor copies my website?
If a competitor copies your website, we can help you review what happened and decide what needs to be changed.
However, we are not a legal service and cannot enforce copyright or legal claims for you. If you believe your content was copied illegally, you should speak with a legal professional.
Security & Technical Issues
What happens if my website goes offline?
If your website goes offline, contact us so we can look into it.
Downtime can happen for different reasons, including hosting issues, domain problems, plugin conflicts, payment issues, or third-party service interruptions. Website Care helps make sure someone is available to investigate the problem.
What happens if my website gets hacked?
If your website appears hacked, contact us immediately.
Website Care includes maintenance and security-focused support, but no website can be guaranteed to be completely immune from attacks. If a security issue happens, we will look into it and discuss the next steps based on the situation.
What happens if a plugin issue breaks something?
Plugin issues can happen, especially after updates or conflicts between tools.
If something breaks because of a plugin issue, we will review it and work toward a fix. This is one reason Website Care matters: you should not have to figure out WordPress plugin problems on your own.
After Your Website Launches
What happens if I want to add a new service later?
If you add a new service later, we can update the website.
Depending on the change, this may be a simple content update or it may require a new section or page. Most service updates can be handled through your Website Care plan.
What happens if I want to add a new location later?
If your business expands to a new location or service area, we can update the website.
This may include adding the location to your content, updating service-area sections, or creating a new location page if needed.
What happens if I want to add something new that was not part of the original website?
If you want to add something new later, we can discuss what is involved.
Some additions are simple. Others may require extra setup, new tools, new pages, or a larger update. We will explain what is needed before moving forward.
Other Common Questions
What happens if I want everything in writing?
That is completely reasonable.
Important details such as pricing, payments, included services, cancellation terms, and ongoing Website Care should be clear before work begins. We want expectations to be understood, not assumed.
What happens if I have a concern during the project?
Bring it up as early as possible.
Most issues are easier to fix when they are discussed early. If something feels unclear, frustrating, or different from what you expected, let us know so we can address it before it becomes a bigger problem.
What happens if I’m not sure this is right for my business?
That is what the free consultation is for.
You can ask questions, explain what you need, and see whether the process makes sense for your business. If it is not the right fit, you are not obligated to move forward.
